Drone Law

The Center for Air and Space Law at the University of Mississippi is the premier platform for cutting-edge research, analysis, and formulation of drone law and policy. We consider the ethics and legalities surrounding drone activity, industry, and technology and offer a space where experts, academics, and practitioners converge to explore these multifaceted dimensions of drones and drone regulations.

We are a proud partner with ASSURE, the FAA’s Center of Excellence for UAS (drone) Research, an alliance of twenty-nine of the world’s leading drone research institutions and more than a hundred leading industry and government partners. Our work and writing has influenced current Mississippi drone legislation, and we have partnered with other institutions on two proposals for research to the FAA.

Our Journal of Drone Law and Policy is the only journal in the world devoted to drone law. In addition, we have created our Task Force on Drone Law and Policy, which, among other things, produces a biweekly blog on all things related to drone law and policy.
